About The Drug"Less" Pharmacist

Dr. Elaine Benson Thomas

WHY I WRITE

I decided to start the Drugless Pharmacist blog to write the Kind of articles that would inform and warn people about casually taking prescription drugs without first seriously considering alternative remedies when appropriate.  We bare all ultimately in charge of what happens in our lives, not the doctor.  So, I’m here to help you get informed and take control of your own health.

I decided to start The Drug”Less” Pharmacist in hopes of writing the kinds of articles that would make people think hard and long before they just casually start taking the prescriptions that their doctor ordered  for them.  My heartfelt desire to warn people comes from a scripture that is near and dear, Hosea 4:6 “My people perish for a lack of knowledge”. I just want people to be as informed as possible about the drugs they take and be aware of alternate treatment modalities available to them so they can choose wisely.

Throughout my pharmacy career, no matter the setting, my co-workers and I remained skeptical about taking prescriptions drugs unless we really needed them.  We saw up close how people were so dependent upon them and how they seemed to be caught up in a never ending cycle.

In the future, when I update this page, I hope that I will have presented a wealth of information that has helped people make educated decisions regarding treatments that they found beneficial and safer than the standard drug therapy approach. I hope that many will find the resources impactful on their lives and that this will be a place to come back to over and over again to find something new and of value. For now, I hope that readers will continue to join me and I invite you to share your thoughts on what you would like to here more about.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” HOSEA 4:6 NKJV

We are not excused because of ignorance.  So let us make it our business to be informed about as much as we can about our health and how to take care of our bodies.  We are responsible, not the doctors.  How do you know they are telling you the right thing or doing what is right for you.  Let’s not fail because we didn’t know.  Remember the words of Hosea 4:6.

Let us make it our business to find out what’s really going on.
